Vice President for
Donor Services and Development
The Columbus Foundation, the seventh largest community foundation in the country, is offering an experienced professional an exceptional opportunity to join our senior management team to help donors achieve the most effective philanthropy possible.
This vice president position is responsible for: serving as an advisor to donors and prospective donors in establishing funds that reflect both their values and philanthropic goals; acting as a philanthropic resource to attorneys, financial planners and other professional advisors; preparing long range donor service and development strategies to achieve the Foundation’s strategic objectives; identifying, cultivating, and securing current and future gifts; providing staff support to the senior management team, various committees, and others working to increase the assets, reputation, and philanthropic impact of the Foundation; leading Donor Services and Development staff to sustain and expand the Foundation’s tradition of excellence in donor services and growth of philanthropy.
Qualified candidates must have the following requirements:
- Master’s or professional level degree in public policy, nonprofit management, philanthropy, marketing, financial planning, tax or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in nonprofit management and a demonstrated record of significant achievement in major/ planned gift philanthropy.
- Skills to direct an experienced professional staff, volunteers, and professional advisors.
- Exceptional writing and public speaking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
