Associate Director for Donor Services and Development
The Columbus Foundation, the seventh largest community foundation in the country, is seeking a professional to identify, cultivate, and secure major gifts and future planned gifts by interaction with prospective and current donors, volunteers, and professional advisors and their clients, in order to further the Foundation’s mission in strengthening and improving our community. Major responsibilities include providing philanthropic information and assistance to individuals, families, businesses, and organizations in order to build the Foundation’s endowment through charitable giving.
The successful candidate must have an advanced and/or graduate degree; 10+ years of expertise in financial advisement and wealth planning management; experience in planned giving in the nonprofit sector and nonprofit management experience; a demonstrated record in significant achievement in major/planned gift fundraising working with high net worth individuals, families, and businesses; familiarity with financial and estate planning concepts; and a working knowledge of charitable gift planning strategies. Candidates must have excellent writing and speaking skills, a strong work ethic, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work closely with volunteers, donors, and professional advisors. Preferences will be given to candidates who have a working knowledge of the greater Columbus area, community foundations, and/or who have relevant formal training and comparable experience. Office Services Assistant
The Columbus Foundation, the seventh largest community foundation in the United States, is seeking an individual to provide support and administrative assistance for the Supporting Foundations Department and the Donor Services and Development Department.
This position is a shared role between departments focusing on facilitating efficiencies in grantmaking, providing additional administrative coverage, and providing detailed data input.
Desired candidate must have a strong interest in the Columbus community, strong organizational and project management skills; excellent database skills; good communication skills; and the ability to work collaboratively with others. Experience in Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access software required. A minimum of three years of work related experience in the nonprofit field is preferred, as well as a bachelor’s degree.
