There are many directions a corporate giving program can take, and Limited Brands' corporate giving efforts are no exception.  In 1994, Limited Brands established the Limited Brands Foundation as a supporting organization of The Columbus Foundation to help facilitate the company’s interest in supporting programs tied closely to the interests in women, children, and education.  Since being established, the Limited Brands Foundation has paid out nearly $60 million in grants.  With this level of activity, it’s no wonder Limited Brands turned to The Columbus Foundation to support its corporate philanthropy. Outsourcing some of these grantmaking activities has allowed Limited Brands staff more valuable time to enhance relationships with nonprofit organizations, make decisions about product donations, manage employee giving campaigns for United Way and the Wexner Center, provide training on best practices and skills for being a board member of a nonprofit organization, and encourage associate volunteerism in the community.
