Pi Day 5K

  • March 10, 2012   |   9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

A 3.14 mile run/walk to support science and mathematics programs coordinated by the Teaching & Learning Collaborative. The Teaching & Learning Collaborative, formerly known as the Science & Mathematics Network, in operation since 1992, has a long successful history of designing and facilitating professional development programs for grades per-kindergarten through grade 12 educators in mathematics, science, and technology. Proceeds from this event will support the important work coordinated by the Teaching & Learning Collaborative with the potential to reach educators in grades PreK-12 working with thousands of students in Ohio.

Like many of our programs, this Pi Day race has an innovative twist! While many 5K runs are 3.1 miles, the Pi Day Pi-K will be a 3.14 mile run/walk with a 1 mile Diameter Dash fun-run/walk. We are encouraging schools, universities, businesses, and families to come out to run/walk together to support and foster excitement about mathematics and science education.
