Donor Advised Funds
A Donor Advised Fund our most flexible charitable fund which allows you to support the issues and organizations you care most about. Whether you are an individual, family or business, a donor advised fund may be the best vehicle for your charitable giving. You will have access to your fund online and you can make grants directly from our website to the organizations that you wish to support.
Why a Donor Advised Fund?

Choose the asset you wish to donate and make an irrevocable gifts and receive income tax deduction for a gift of $10,000 or more.

Name your fund. You decide how and where it will be invested. (We offer you over 20 choices of banks and brokerage firms).

Transfer your assets to The Columbus Foundation

Recommend grants of $250.00 or more, on your own schedule, to the charities of your choice. Use our secure, online fund management system, PowerPhilanthropy, 24 hours a day.

The Columbus Foundation will make the grants to your chosen organizations and handle all of the administrative details, so you don’t have to.
There are two fees associated with each of our funds: one is our administrative fee which is based on the type of fund and the fund balance; and the other is the investment agent fee.
There are many advantages of using a Donor Advised Fund instead of setting up a Private Foundation.
