Fund for Capital Improvement
Grantmaking Focus
Established and effective nonprofit organizations are encouraged to submit requests for capital support. The Columbus Foundation will give high priority to requests that enhance and improve services and programs. Funding will be considered for:
- Capital Campaign: A time-limited fundraising effort with a financial goal to fund property acquisition, construction, or major renovation costing $500,000 or more; and
- Capital Project: A request for equipment, furnishings, vehicles, or other similar items.

Endowment Funds are not eligible.

Grant Application Instructions and Deadline
Letters of Intent and Full Applications are accepted online. The Letter of Intent deadline is the first Friday in July unless otherwise noted. For exact dates, please consult the Foundation's event calendar. Applicants must have a completed, updated PowerPhilanthorpy portrait at the time the Full Application is submitted. Organization audits are included in PowerPhilanthropy portraits; please refer to the Foundation's audit requirement.
The Columbus Foundation asks all nonprofit organizations that receive funding to help promote the
vital role philanthropy plays in strengthening our community, and the importance of charitable
giving to your organization’s effort to carry out its mission.
Reporting Requirements
Final reports are due 30 days following the end of the grant period.
