Grantmaking Focus
The
Central Benefits Health Care Foundation supports projects that focus on preventative healthcare for indigent children and adults, with a current focus on prenatal through age six. Priority is given to projects that can produce measurable results and offer opportunities to leverage funding from other sources.
Grant Application Instructions
A Request for Proposals (RFP) is issued when funds are available from the Central Benefits Health Care Foundation. The issues and geographical areas addressed by RFPs will change. The foundation is not accepting proposals at this time, and future RFP opportunities will be listed on this site.
Examples of Grants
Since 1998, the Central Benefits Health Care Foundation has made grants totaling over $2.7 million.
The grants included:
- Children’s Hospital Inc. Center for Child and Family Advocacy: $500,000 to establish the Nurse Family Partnership Program.
- OhioHealth Foundation: $448,220 to support the Wellness on Wheels Project.
- United Way of Central Ohio: $446,358 for the Early Intervention & Weight Management Program, a collaborative effort of six different organizations.
Reporting Requirements
Due to the customized nature of the RFP process for the Central Benefits Health Care Foundation, the reporting process will also be customized for each cycle. Reporting information will be detailed in the grant award letter.

The Central Benefits Health Care Foundation asks all nonprofit organizations receiving funding to help promote the vital role philanthropy plays in strengthening our community, and the importance of charitable giving to your organization’s effort to carry out its mission.
