Continuous Improvement
Grantmaking Focus
Nonprofit leaders crave reliable multi-year support for operating expenses. Historically, The Columbus Foundation has not made such support available.
Now, with a focus on strengthening institutional infrastructure and rewarding organizations with potential for innovative service delivery, the Foundation will identify between four and eight nonprofit organizations to receive Continuous Improvement grants.
Annual grants of $50,000 to $200,000 will be made for up to five years. In addition, the Foundation will offer technical assistance and hands-on support from our staff. Organizations will be expected to increase capacity to meet community needs, enhance overall operations, and improve program quality.
Unsolicited applications are not accepted. The Foundation will identify agencies that merit consideration. To be considered, organizations must have a completed and updated PowerPhilanthropy portrait. Organization audits are included in PowerPhilanthropy portraits; please refer to the Foundation's audit requirement.
Funding Consideration will be based, in part, upon:
- Compelling product or service
- Willingness to expand and/or strengthen programs and operations
- Strong internal performance measures
- Diverse funding base
- Overall readiness to engage in a process of continuous improvement
