Community Improvement Project
Supports a concentrated initiative to advance progress over a longer term in an identified area of community need.
Weinland Park Collaborative
The Weinland Park Collaborative is focused on improving and sustaining the quality of life in Columbus’ Weinland Park neighborhood though renovating housing and providing educational and employment opportunities for existing residents.
Weinland Park is a neighborhood of about 4,800 residents located immediately southeast of the Columbus campus of The Ohio State University. The neighborhood is bounded by East Fifth Avenue on the south, High Street on the west, Chittenden Avenue on the north, and the CSX railroad tracks on the east.
The collaborative strategy involves coordinated investments over the next several years in housing, education, employment, public safety, health, civic engagement of the residents, and a careful evaluation of the success of each component and of the overall strategy.
The principal funders of the Weinland Park Collaborative are the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, The Columbus Foundation, United Way of Central Ohio, the City of Columbus, The Ohio State University and Campus Partners.
