THE COLUMBUS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES
GRANT WORKSHOPS FOR AREA NONPROFITS

Columbus, OH (February 14, 2008)—The Columbus Foundation introduces grant information sessions focused on its new competitive grantmaking program. It was developed to increase the effectiveness of grants to area organizations working to make a difference in the central Ohio community. Information about the new program, which takes effect in March, is available online at www.columbusfoundation.org.

The Columbus Foundation’s new grantmaking strategy is now being organized around four priority areas: Fund for Targeted Needs; Fund for Innovative Operations; Fund for Capital Improvements; and Community Improvement Project. The new process will make it easier for nonprofit organizations to find opportunities to seek grants, give them more opportunities to apply for grants, and streamline the application process.

“Our new process provides greater focus and flexibility to enable the best grant investment ideas possible,” said Lisa Schweitzer Courtice, vice president of community resource and grants management for The Columbus Foundation. “To be more effective and increase the difference grantmaking can make, we feel greater targeting of our grants investments is required.”

Information sessions for central Ohio nonprofit organizations will be held at The Columbus Foundation, 1234 E. Broad St. To register for a workshop, please visit www.columbusfoundation.org.
