"We've dispelled the notion that fathers aren't willing," said Eddie Harrell, Jr., president and CEO, Columbus Urban League. "Through this program we inform fathers of their rights and responsibilities and engage them—providing them with the necessary components to raise, develop, and support their children."

For more than 90 years, Columbus Urban League has been at the forefront of civil rights for all citizens, encouraging equality in education, careers, and housing.

In 2008, the organization embarked on a mission to support and encourage African-American men in their roles as fathers. The Father 2 Father program, part of the African-American Male Initiative, has been an overwhelming success.

A $40,000 grant from the Alfred L. Willson Charitable Fund of The Columbus Foundation supported the Father 2 Father (F2F) program.

With a focus on creating meaningful, personal connections between fathers and their children, this free program gives men the tools they need to provide financial, spiritual, and emotional support.
