ON GIVING TUESDAY, LET’S BE BETTER TOGETHER
Better Together projects are featured on a new, crowdfunding platform in The Columbus Foundation’s Giving Store. Designed to fulfill critical needs of local nonprofits in a timely manner, Better Together is where you can learn about current opportunities, quickly and easily make donations, and track each project goal in real time.
Donors with funds at The Columbus Foundation can suggest a grant, and anyone can contribute to a project using a major credit card, starting at $20.
"Our community is generous and strong, and even stronger when we’re aligned and collaborating. Better Together encourages collective philanthropy to meet our community’s pressing needs," Dan Sharpe, Vice President for Community Research and Grants Management.
Giving Tuesday was created as an annual day to give back, following the hustle and bustle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The Columbus Foundation is proud to offer central Ohioans these easy and effective ways to share kindness on this global day of giving.
Make a difference today! Join with others to fulfill these urgent needs in our community.
YWCA Columbus — GOAL: $5,000
Make the holidays a season of hope for people facing homelessness in central Ohio. This project will provide essential items, from toothbrushes to coats, to help families in emergency shelter at the YWCA Family Center.
"Personal care items, especially winter coats help a great deal because we leave the shelter bright and early. Small children need to stay warm and well."
— Felicia G., Family Center Resident
Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center — GOAL: $8,000
Brighten the lives of our community’s seniors with a space of their own. Help complete the transformation of a new activities room specifically designed to bring area seniors together for enrichment and social interaction.
"CRC provides regular opportunities for seniors to socialize and enjoy each others' company, preventing isolation. Funding for this 'Room of Their Own' will provide dedicated seniors-only space for activities."
— Bill Owens, Executive Director, CRC
