The Columbus Foundation announced $132.9 million in gifts to new and existing funds and Supporting Foundations in 2014—a 24 percent increase over 2013—at its annual Celebration of Philanthropy held September 3rd in Davis Hall. This is the fifth consecutive year gifts have topped the $100 million mark.
The Columbus Foundation announced its 5 Nonprofits to Watch, recognizing innovative nonprofits poised for an exceptional year of growth and progress in 2015. The organizations selected for 2015 are: Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus, Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio, Columbus Museum of Art, Reeb Community Center, and St. Vincent Family Center.
Nonprofit organizations supporting education, social services, community events and recreation, and youth received an economic boost from The Paul G. Duke Foundation. The foundation recently announced grants totaling more than $240,000 to benefit nonprofits in the Miami County area.
The Columbus cluster of CEOs for Cities announced Columbus as the host site of the 2016 CEOs for Cities National Meeting, which will be held in September. CEOs for Cities members from all over the country are expected to attend the prestigious event. The Columbus cluster consists of 40 local leaders from the public and private sector.
