The Columbus Foundation Disaster Relief Fund

PURPOSE:

The Columbus Foundation is responsive to local, national, and international natural disasters, epidemics, and events in need of support. In instances like Hurricane Florence, which impacted North and South Carolina and Hurricane Michael, which is impacting the Florida Panhandle causing widespread flooding and power outages, the Foundation’s Community Research and Grants Management team identifies the most effective organizations that are often the first and lasting responders.   Hurricane Michael made landfall near Mexico Beach, Florida on October 10, 2018, just shy of Category 5 strength, causing significant flooding and damage to surrounding areas. It continued through the Panhandle and southwest Georgia as a hurricane. Learn more and give now.   Donations to this fund will benefit the American Red Cross, which is responding to current emergency needs and the Foundation for the Carolinas, a community foundation based in Charlotte, North Carolina that will be instrumental in directing dollars where they are most needed as recovery efforts begin for Florence.  We are working to find a local community foundation in Florida for the recovery efforts for Michael.
