The Big Table® is an annual community-wide civic engagement initiative launched by The Columbus Foundation in 2016. This year, The Big Table will take place on Tuesday, October 21—and we are excited to offer an educator-specific discussion and activity guide to engage our region’s youth in the conversation! By participating with your students, you are helping to build a kinder, more connected community where everyone has a seat at the table. 

Designed for students grades K-12, The Big Table Educator Toolkit aims to equip you with everything you need for a 45-minute lesson including a discussion and activity guide, participation stickers, conversation prompts, and a few surprises. There is no cost to participate. 

While The Big Table takes place on October 21, we understand that school schedules can present challenges. If your class can participate that day, you’ll be joining thousands of others across central Ohio in meaningful conversations. But if it works better to facilitate your Big Table conversation in the days surrounding October 21, that’s fine, too!
