B.A. Seitz Fund Announces Grants to Support Seneca County

COLUMBUS, OH (February 10, 2016)—The B.A. Seitz Fund has awarded 13 grants totaling $25,000 to nonprofit organizations serving Seneca County.

Christian Counseling Centerto support counseling services for youth in Tiffin.

Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment Inc.to provide financial assistance for medication and supplies related to cancer for children who reside in Tiffin.

First Call For Helpto assist with heating bills for families with children.

Fish of Tiffinto provide food, medicine, and utility assistance for disadvantaged families with children in Tiffin.

Seneca County Agency Transportationto support passenger assistance to children who reside in Tiffin.

Sharing Kitchento provide meals for disadvantaged families and individuals.

Sisters of St. Francis Conventto provide scholarships for earth literacy center programs for disadvantaged youth.

The Salvation Army Corps of Tiffin, Ohioto support the food pantry and meal program for families and individuals.

Tiffin Community YMCA Recreation Centerto support the fourth grade swimming program.

Tiffin Firemen’s Fundto provide Christmas toys for disadvantaged children.

Tiffin-Seneca Public Libraryto bring in a guest author for youth and community programming and to provide a mobile bookcase for afterschool programming.

Tiffin-Seneca Teen Centerto provide an afterschool drop-in center for teens.

The B.A. Seitz Fund of Community Foundations, Inc. benefits the education and well-being of youth residing in Tiffin, Ohio. A local advisory board comprised of five community members works in conjunction with First Call For Help, a program of Tiffin-Seneca United Way that provides direct information and referral services, to award vouchers for the school clothes program and allocates funds to the various organizations.

B.A. Seitz, a native of Tiffin, left the area at an early age and made his fortune mining in Colorado. A bachelor, he died Aug. 2, 1939, and left bequests to a number of Tiffin-area institutions including churches, the hospital, and the trust from which this fund originated.
