Community-wide effort designed to inspire a culture of connection and kindness through day of conversations
COLUMBUS, OH (August 23, 2022) — The Columbus Foundation announced today the return of The Big Table® on Thursday, October 6. Launched in 2016, The Big Table is a day of community-wide conversations designed to inspire authentic human connection and civic engagement.
Anyone can participate in The Big Table either by signing up to host a Big Table conversation or by joining a public conversation. Dozens of public conversations will be taking place throughout the day on October 6, including at all 23 Columbus Metropolitan Library locations, 8 YMCA of Central Ohio locations, The Columbus Foundation, and additional locations.
“The Big Table is all about bringing the central Ohio community together to share our experiences, learn from one another, and discuss how we can move forward, together, toward a brighter future,” said Kate Oliphint, Director of Kindness at The Columbus Foundation. “Whether a conversation takes place at a coffee shop, community center, library, office building, park, or house of worship, our goal is to inspire a culture of connection and kindness, one conversation at a time.”
