John W. And Edna Mcmanus Shepard Fund/Guernsey County Foundation Announce Extension Of Grant Deadline – 2015

Columbus, OH (June 2, 2015)—The John W. and Edna McManus Shepard Fund/Guernsey County Foundation has extended the grant application deadline to Friday, June 19, 2015.

The Shepard Fund awards grants to benefit cultural and economic programs for Cambridge and Guernsey Counties. An advisory committee of two officers from the Guernsey County Foundation and committee chair John A. Davis assists with grant recommendations.

Grant applications and information may be accessed through The Columbus Foundation’s website, columbusfoundation.org, and can be submitted electronically by email to submit@columbusfoundation.org. Grant requests may not exceed $5,000.

In 1998, Arthur E. Shepard established the Shepard Fund in memory of his parents, longtime residents of Cambridge. Mr. Shepard’s father, John W. Shepard, owned and operated a dry cleaning and tailoring business for 36 years before his death in 1944. His mother, the former Edna McManus, moved to Cambridge with her family when the Cambridge Glass Company opened. Her father made the first piece of glassware produced at the company.
