Columbus, OH (October 28, 2025)—Today, The Columbus Foundation announced its Governing Committee has approved a total of $500,000 in grants to provide immediate support to 21 nonprofit organizations addressing food insecurity in central Ohio.
Those in the pantry network are citing significant increases in demand, while experiencing stagnant or decreased financial resources. The news of possible changes in SNAP benefits would further strain an already stressed network.
“This investment in food pantries throughout our community is one way to support organizations working hard to meet an urgent need that is growing rapidly by the day.” said Doug Kridler, President and CEO of The Columbus Foundation.
The Columbus Foundation’s Community Research and Grants Management team identified food pantries serving a wide geographic area and identified 21 organizations on the front lines of the community’s emergency food and nutrition access system.
