The Columbus Foundation Honors 4 ‘True Originals’ For Groundbreaking Achievements

Columbus, OH (July 10, 2025)— A world-renowned visual artist, a legendary jazz musician, a pioneering tech entrepreneur, and a trailblazing professional football player were all recognized as Columbus’ True Originals today at The Columbus Foundation. Created in 2019, Columbus’ True Originals celebrates those in our community who expand the horizons of Columbus through groundbreaking, original work.   

“Columbus is home to many talented and history-making visionaries—past and present—whose ingenuity and determination distinguish themselves and our region,” said Doug Kridler, President and CEO of The Columbus Foundation. “Columbus’ True Originals is an opportunity to celebrate and appreciate great innovators, and to help love for our community grow. Each of this year’s honorees are giants in their respective fields, pushing boundaries and redefining possibility for the betterment of humankind.” 

This year, The Columbus Foundation is honoring the extraordinary talents and contributions of:  

  • Ann Hamilton, oeuvre of multi-disciplinary & artistic innovation  

  • Jeff Wilkins, co-founder and former president of CompuServe 

  • Bill Willis, professional football player and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee
