The Columbus Foundation’s Governing Committee has approved more than $1.8 million in grants to arts and culture organizations in central Ohio.

In response to a marked increase in need and potential decrease in shelter capacity for those experiencing housing instability in central Ohio, the Governing Committee of The Columbus Foundation approved a special emergency grant of $2 million from its reserves to Community Shelter Board (CSB).

The Columbus Foundation presented Bobby Floyd with The Spirit of Columbus® Award, recognizing his artistic achievement and impact on central Ohio’s cultural life.

The 5 Nonprofits to Watch in 2026 are: Dress for Success Columbus, Festa, Home for Families, Opera Columbus, and YWCA Columbus. 

The Columbus Youth Foundation (CYF), a Supporting Foundation of The Columbus Foundation, recognized 94 Columbus City Schools (CCS) students through the Best All-Around Student Awards, celebrating students’ academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, service to community, and leadership during the 2025-2026 school year. 

The Columbus Foundation announced that The Big Table® will take place on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Launched in 2016, The Big Table is an annual day of community-wide conversation designed to inspire authentic human connection and civic engagement. Registration opens on Thursday, August 13.
