Teens involved in Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus’ West Side club will have a new place to call home thanks to The Columbus Foundation and Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Capital Improvement Initiative Funding Partnership. A $110,000 grant will assist with the relocation of its Franklinton club, helping to purchase and renovate a property on Sullivant Avenue that will serve youth ages 13-18.

Kelley Griesmer has been named director of Special Projects at The Columbus Foundation, the seventh largest community foundation in the United States. In this new position, Ms. Griesmer will be responsible for capacity building support for key partnerships, including The Columbus Foundation’s Gifts of Kindness Fund and other online philanthropic initiatives.

The Columbus Foundation’s Governing Committee recently approved two grants totaling $75,000 from the Fund for Financial Innovation (FFI) to support efforts to increase small business development in central Ohio. The Foundation’s Fund for Financial Innovation was established in 2010 to support nonprofit organizations and projects that promote social enterprise collaborations, affiliations, and mergers.

Two vibrant, growing nonprofits that provide opportunities for youth and adults in our community received grants from The Columbus Foundation as Continuous Improvement grantees.

The Columbus Foundation announced The Big Table, a new community initiative focused on a day of conversation to strengthen understanding across our region. The event will bring the voices of residents together around many tables on August 30, 2016—with gatherings held in homes, offices, libraries, places of worship, and in recreation and community centers.

Nonprofit organizations supporting education, health, social services, community events, and youth received an economic boost from The Paul G. Duke Foundation. The Foundation recently announced grants totaling more than $126,000 to benefit residents of the Miami County area.
