Investments are made in a broad range of nonprofit organizations working to strengthen and improve our community.

It was a mutual love and respect for nature, conservation, the arts, and more that brought Louise (Omie) Warner, M.D., and Clyde W. Gosnell, Jr. together. The couple, married in 2001, has since collectively forged a path and secured a legacy that will positively impact generations to come. The two are the recipients of the 2017 Leadership in Philanthropy award.

Pat Wynn Brown and Steve Brown, married 46 years and longtime residents of Clintonville, have utilized the arts as one way to illustrate both their kindness and desire to help others.

Throughout the pandemic, LifeCare Alliance has also continued to provide meals to individuals and families through the Columbus Cancer Clinic and Project OpenHand, a program for men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS in central Ohio and their families. Thanks to Columbus Foundation donors, and generous corporate support, LifeCare Alliance was able to shift resources within the organization and increase the number of meals being produced, all while keeping its core purpose, “to serve those in need, through compassionate, responsive, quality care.”

For the important role it plays in bringing stability to those in need, especially with eviction prevention efforts during the pandemic, The Columbus Foundation recognizes IMPACT Community Action as the 2021 Columbus Foundation Award honoree.

Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) was founded in 1980 with the mission to feed hungry people in our community. Since then, the organizations shifted to focus on getting to know those they serve better beyond procuring and delivering food, instead focusing also on developing ways to create a hunger-free, healthier community. 2020 was a year unlike any other MOFC has seen, and the organization distributed what amounts to 170,000 meals a day, a 25–30 percent increase over the previous year.
