As the creator of one of the first online giving days in 2008, The Columbus Foundation has seen impressive growth in online giving as well as the rise of community (and even global!) giving days in the past 10 years.

Donor Advised Funds are enormously popular charitable giving vehicles—known for their ease and flexibility. Through a Donor Advised Fund, individuals can make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants from the fund over time. Our Governing Committee consists of nine volunteers dedicated to stewardship for The Columbus Foundation and its charitable activities. These civic leaders, chosen for their knowledge of the community’s needs, were appointed to seven-year terms. Over the past seven decades, more than 40 community leaders have served as members of the Foundation’s Governing Committee.

The Columbus Foundation’s Governing Committee approved $750,000 in grants to support 12 local nonprofit organizations serving under- and uninsured medically vulnerable populations.

Community Foundations, Inc., an affiliate of The Columbus Foundation, is now accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations serving Ross County in the areas of cultural development, health and human welfare, economic development, and underprivileged youth.
