The Columbus Foundation today announced that it has awarded a total of $2.6 million in Program Related Investments (PRIs) to five Black-owned and Black-led businesses serving the central Ohio region. The five businesses—Aventi Enterprises LLC, Embedded Services, The Mezzanine Fund, Our Hospitality Group LLC, and Prospera Advisory Group—are the first to receive funding through The Columbus Foundation’s Equitable Small Business Fund.

The Columbus Foundation approved $4.8 million in grants and loans in December 2022. Propelled by the generosity of donors and the community, grants will support racial equity, human services, and capital projects.

The Columbus Foundation unveils all-time high grantmaking figures for 2022, totaling $328.3 million, and honors philanthropic champions with the 2023 Harrison M. Sayre, Columbus Foundation, and Acorn Awards at the annual Celebration of Philanthropy.

The Columbus Foundation today announced its Governing Committee has approved more than $1.75 million in grants to local arts and culture organizations. A total of 74 nonprofits will receive unrestricted operating support to help these organizations meet community needs and expand arts and cultural programming in Franklin County.

The scholarship was established in 1997 by Rosalie Rosemond to honor her daughter, Janith Sheryl Rosemond. A 1965 graduate of Eastmoor High School, Jan Rosemond went on to receive her RN from Howard University; BS in Elementary Education from Boston University, Boston; and her MA in Health Education from Columbia University’s Teacher’s College. Throughout her career, Jan held positions that included staff and surgical nurse, school nurse and teacher, and health consultant in Columbus, Ohio and New York, New York until 1980.

The scholarship supports deserving students enrolled in bachelor's or master's degree program in the College of Social Work at The Ohio State University who demonstrate financial need.

This scholarship award is for the benefit of an Edon High School (Ohio) senior who will be attending a technical, community, or four-year college or university degree program as a full-time student. The scholarship award will be used for tuition, fees, and books.

This scholarship was created to defray the educational expenses of a college or university for a Vinton County High School student.

This fund is established in the memory of William Nicholas Childers, an outstanding student-athlete at Liberty Union High School in Baltimore, Ohio. It provides scholarship support for a graduating student-athlete from Liberty Union High School.

The fund provides scholarships to deserving students at Bethune-Cookman University and Morehouse College.
