Renowned Keyboardist Bobby Floyd Presented with The Spirit of Columbus® Award

Long before he toured with Ray Charles or received an Emmy Award or Grammy nomination, critically acclaimed keyboardist Bobby Floyd was a young boy with a natural musical gift. Floyd, who started playing piano at the age of 2 and who regularly performed for his church congregation as a child, has since built a distinguished career as a jazz artist, touring throughout the United States and around the world.

In April, in recognition of his remarkable artistic achievements and contributions to central Ohio’s cultural landscape, Floyd was named the 2026 honoree of The Spirit of Columbus® Award by The Columbus Foundation. Created in 2013 in honor of Jerrie Mock, the first woman to fly around the world solo, the award celebrates those in our community who exhibit bravery, determination, and inspiration through their actions.
