Thomas A. White Legacy Fund
This fund celebrates Tom White's lifetime of service by providing continuing support to the causes he championed, including low-income housing, rehabilitation and re-entry programs, legal aid services, substance use recovery programs, and other poverty relief programs.

In honor of Tom White’s lifetime of service and compassion for others, Tom’s family and friends have established this fund to provide lasting support to the charitable causes closest to his heart.

Tom has long been known as someone who is always willing to give his time and joyous energy to the communities he holds dear, such as his church, his high school class reunion committee, and, of course, his friends and family. But his spirit of service was most profoundly shaped by the countless hours he spent volunteering for the Kairos Prison Ministry. In this role, he would regularly visit and write letters to death row inmates at Marion Correctional Institution–serving as a friend and source of light to those whom society has largely given up on. Through this work, Tom came to deeply understand the devastating consequences of living through poverty and trauma. In 2015, Tom leveraged his career’s worth of expertise in real estate and property management to start his own business that would provide affordable housing to primarily low-income tenants, as well as facility maintenance services for nonprofits that serve marginalized groups. Tom treated all his tenants with the utmost dignity and respect and he held a deep commitment to advancing the missions of his nonprofit clients.

Gifts to this fund will be directed toward Ohio-based organizations that combat poverty and provide compassionate social services such as low-income housing assistance, rehabilitation and reentry programming, legal aid, and substance use recovery services.
