American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) - Columbus Chapter Scholarship
This society has been in existence since the mid 1950s and is nationwide with local chapters. ASIS members are the heads of security divisions of hospitals, insurance companies, retail outlets, and hotels. They are also security service or product vendors.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates may be ASIS members or non-members.
- Candidates must attend one of the following colleges or universities, Capital University, Central Ohio Technical College, Columbus State Community College, Denison University, Franklin University, Hocking Technical College, Kenyon College, Muskingum University, Ohio Dominican University, Otterbein University, Ohio Wesleyan University, Ohio University, The Ohio State University or Zane State University.
- Candidates must be "students of merit" who are interested in a career in the private security, law enforcement, or criminal justice professions.
- Candidates must be enrolled or accepted int he term immediately following the award (generally fall term), either full- or part-time.
- Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 grade pointa average.
- Candidates must have completed their freshman year at an accredited college or university in the central Ohio chapter area (Franklin and contiguous counties).
