Brenda and Charles Muller Scholarship

Brenda Muller was an avid reader. The last seven years of her career with the State of Ohio were in the Department of Education. Charles Muller was the recipient of a scholarship that made an otherwise unobtainable college education possible. His studies of America’s material culture could not have been without the assistance of many libraries. Libraries are the keepers of history, the preservers of culture and the gateway to the pursuit of intellectual curiosity.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates must be pursuing a Master’s of Library Science (MLS) or Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) at a university that is ALA accredited, either full- or part-time.
  • Preference may also be given to students attending Kent State University, students from military families, and those with paid or volunteer library experience.
  • Preference will be given first to students who are graduates of Canal Winchester School District, Teays Valley Local School District, and Groveport Madison Schools; then central Ohio; then state of Ohio.
Deadline:

March 22, 2024 5:00 p.m. EST

Award Amount:

$1,000 per year until the recipients completes their degree (maximum three years).
