This scholarship is made possible because of Carter, a black Labrador Retriever, who was 22 months old when he was diagnosed with and died from a rare type of leukemia. Before this short illness, he provided love and joy to our family. Although it was a shock to lose him at such a young age, our family could not have navigated through his illness and death without the support of the compassionate and well-trained Veterinary Technicians at VCA Sawmill Animal Hospital. With this scholarship, we wish to provide financial assistance to individuals who have the passion for animals and compassion for people that will help propel their success as veterinary technicians.
- Candidates must plan to work in the vet tech field.
- Candidates must be enrolled or plan to be enrolled in a veterinary technology (vet tech) program at Columbus State Community College (CSCC), Penn Foster, or The Ohio State University (OSU).
- Candidates may be enrolled either part- or full-time; however, they must be enrolled in a minimum of two classes or six credit hours to apply the scholarship.
- Strong preference will be given to employees of VCA Mill Run, VCA Sawmill, or VCA Westerville East animal hospitals.
