Richard D. and Yvonne W. Ruffin Family Scholarship Fund
The late Dr. Richard Ruffin, a urologist, established this fund to assist disadvantaged African-American students in obtaining a medical degree from Meharry Medical College, where he received his medical training.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must be officially enrolled in Meharry Medical College School of Medicine.
- Candidates must be a person of high moral character who is committed to Meharry Medical College and the greater community.
- Candidates must be considered disadvantaged (based on factors such as income level, single-parent household, and/or first generation to attend college).
- Candidates must be from Ohio
- Candidates must be in good academic standing.
- Candidates must be of African-American descent.
Deadline:
The Scholarship Honors and Awards Committee of Meharry Medical College shall have the responsibility of selecting the recipient(s) each spring.
Award Amount:
Minimum $500
