COPC Bridges the Gap Scholarship

Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC) is one of the largest physician-owned primary care organizations in the United States. COPC is rooted in a long history of clinical excellence and a commitment to the highest ethical standards. We are building a model for primary care that creates a more holistic view of patient care and gives physicians more time to focus on building relationships with patients and each other. This scholarship is a continuation of these efforts, ensuring diverse medical talent to provide medical care to all. The scholarship was created to assist with the educational expenses for underrepresented populations in health care looking to attend a college, university, technical college, or community college.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates must attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or a career or technical program in the U.S.
  • Candidates must be graduating high school seniors.
  • Candidates must be willing to participate in an interview.
  • Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale
  • Candidates must identify as a member of a National Institute of Health (NIH)-designated health disparity population including people who identify as American Indian/Alaskan Native, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, or a Sexual or Gender Minority (LGBTQIA+) (https://www.nimhd.nih.gov/about/overview/).
  • Preference will be given to family members of COPC employees, or those who have shadowed at COPC.
  • Preference will be given to first-generation college students.

Award Amount:

Four scholarships for $5,000 each.
