Helen Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund-SWIM-Lexington High School
The Helen Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund is presented in the memory of Helen Martin by Paul, Nancy, Jeffrey and Bradley Martin. Helen Martin was an educator with twenty-five years of teaching experience in Ohio public schools. Promoting and assisting students obtain an education was of great importance to her and is the reason for this Scholarship Fund. Nancy Martin was the Head Varsity Swimming Coach at Lexington High School for twelve years, starting with its inception in 1990. Sons and Grandchildren Jeffrey and Bradley were members of the Lexington High School varsity swimming team.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must be graduating seniors who have been a member of the Lexington High School Swim and Dive Team for at least two seasons.
- A scholarship award may be made to one boy and one girl each academic year (an award is not required).
- Candidates must be pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited public or non-profit independent college, university or technical school in the U.S.
- If, in any given academic year, there is only one boy or only one girl who meets the criteria, then only one award will be given that academic year.
- o If, in any given academic year, there are no candidates on the Swim and Dive Team who meets the criteria, then no award should be given for that academic year.
- o In any year, no more than one boy and one girl should receive an award.
