Ian Van Heyde Memorial Culinary Scholarship Fund
Stephen and Nancy Van Heyde established this fund in memory of their son, Ian. Ian was a senior at Whetstone High School and a distinguished student in culinary arts at Northeast Career Center. The purpose of the fund is to preserve the memory of Ian, an ever-smiling teenager, and to perpetuate his reputation for helping others. As he was intensely interested in a career in culinary arts, the scholarship fund will award scholarships to students pursuing postsecondary studies in the culinary arts, food management, or restaurant management.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates must be graduating from, or have graduated from, a culinary arts program operated by a public school system in central Ohio (Franklin and contiguous counties and Knox County in Ohio).
  • Candidates must be in the top 20% of the applicant’s culinary arts program (outside of the culinary arts program, there is no academic requirement); OR, maintain an “A” average in their culinary classes.
  • Candidates must be pursuing post-secondary education in culinary arts (which includes pastry and baking), restaurant management, or food management.
  • Previous recipients, if eligible, are encouraged to reapply.
