John E. Foster Minority Engineering Scholarship Fund

The fund was established by engineering firms involved in the Clean Water Columbus Project to honor John E. Foster, one of the first prominent African-American engineers in Columbus who owned the largest minority-owned engineering firm in Columbus. The scholarship supports students who are female or a member of a minority.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates must be a graduating high school senior at any Franklin County high school; preference may be given to Columbus City School students.
  • Candidates must be female or a member of a minority.
  • Candidates must be pursuing an engineering degree at The Ohio State University or Columbus State Community College.
  • Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

March 22, 2024, 5PM EST

Award Amount:

$40,000 payable over four years
