A Kitchen for Kids in Linden
The Hardy Center
Many children in Linden have limited access to healthy food. Help renovate The Hardy Center’s kitchen and provide up to 400 nutritious meals for children each and every day.
The Hardy Center was established in 2007 to support children and their families in Linden through programs that build resiliency, help bridge the gap between home and school, and give kids a chance to be kids. One of the most pressing challenges children face is limited access to healthy food.
Your support of this Better Together campaign supported kitchen upgrades that will allow the Center to prepare up to 400 nutritious meals on-site, each and every day for children to eat while at the Center, as well as meals that can be taken home.
"The Hardy Center's ability to make modest molehills into majestic mountains for families in the Linden community is truly nothing short of miraculous. Demonstrating the ability to prepare and serve meals to hundreds of children using a kitchen that was meant to do little more than serve an after service meal to parishioners on Sunday is one of many ways this truth is evidenced. Upgrading the design and equipment in their kitchen allows the Hardy Center to more efficiently and effectively provide healthy meals to many children in the community who would otherwise go without one."
