Bikes for Refugees
Riverview International Center
Support for Riverview International Center will help provide bikes and gear to refugee families in our community.
Thanks to you and other generous donors, the Riverview International Center, in partnership with Franklinton Cycleworks, can provide bikes for refugees in Columbus.
The Riverview International Center empowers new immigrants and refugees in the Columbus area by equipping them with the knowledge needed to acclimate to the United States. Columbus has welcomed more than 500 refugee families from Afghanistan in the past nine months, and RIC has been overwhelmed with requests for bikes. Bikes provide economical transportation to access jobs, grocery stores, shops, schools, libraries, friends in other neighborhoods, and local parks.
Thank you for contributing to a fresh start for refugees in our community.
We are Better Together!
“A lot of men from Afghanistan have shared with me that they want a bike to get to work. We often use Google maps and see that a bike is faster than walking and nearly as fast (and cheaper) than a bus.”
