The Hilltop’s Summer HYPE Day Camp needs your help after an unexpected funding loss! Your support will provide safe, fun, and educational programs for young children this summer.

RAISED $3,275.00
GOAL $6,810.00

The Summer HYPE Day Camp program urgently needs your support after an unexpected funding loss!

The Summer HYPE (Hilltop Young People Excel) Day Camp Program is a safe place where children in grades 2-5 can learn about healthy living and cultivate social and emotional wellness through fun activities. Summer HYPE is a program of the Greater Hilltop Area Shalom Zone, serving the Hilltop neighborhood where over 80 percent of young people qualify for free or reduced lunches and 25 percent of the population does not have a high school diploma or GED.

A six week program, Summer HYPE provides children with breakfast, lunch, and a snack, as well as programs and activities that empower them to feel happy with themselves and proud of the positive aspects of their neighborhood. With your support, 50 children enrolled in Summer HYPE will benefit from field trips and creative activities that would otherwise not be possible. Field trips planned for this year include visits to the Highland Youth Garden and the Hilltop Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, the Ohio Statehouse and the Columbus Museum of Art. Your support will also provide an expanded set of classroom materials, including art supplies to be used for a community pride mural project that serves as a culmination of the Summer HYPE program.

“Young children want to make good choices, and feel good about themselves and their community. This Better Together campaign helps our Summer HYPE participants do just that! Please help our Hilltop Young People Excel through a donation today.”

— Rev. Meredith McDougle, Executive Director

The Greater Hilltop Area Shalom Zone also welcomes donations of paint and brushes for the mural project, as well as markers, glue sticks, and construction paper for their summer program. Contact if you would like to contribute these supplies.

With activities starting on June 24th, your dollars will make an immediate impact! All children should experience enriching and engaging activities over the summer, regardless of their ZIP Code. We are Better Together!
