Help Humane Agents Stop Animal Abuse
Columbus Humane

“Our Humane Agents asked for back-up and you were there to help protect not only them, but also the pets and people we serve. Sincerely, thank you for your generous support! Your gifts mean we’re well on our way to furnishing new radios for our team and we are truly grateful.”
— Rachel D.K. Finney, CEO
As the lead law enforcement agency in Franklin County for investigating cases of animal cruelty, abuse, neglect, and organized animal fighting, the Cruelty Investigations Department at Columbus Humane plays an important role in the organization’s mission is to fight animal cruelty, help animals in need, and advocate for their well-being. With just 6 percent of the organization’s budget covered by public dollars, your support of this campaign made a critical difference in the Cruelty Investigation Unit’s ability to effectively help abused and neglected animals.
Cruelty investigation agents respond to nearly 6,000 calls regarding animal cruelty and neglect and seize approximately 1,200 animals every year. Without consistent and open lines of communication, agents cannot carry out their important work and can find themselves in unsafe situations. Gifts to this Better Together campaign supported the purchase of a radio base, along with eight portable radios and shoulder mics. These radios are used 365 days a year and are vitally important to on-the-ground efforts.
Thank you! We are Better Together!
