Columbus Works, Inc., one of the 2020 Five Nonprofits to Watch at The Columbus Foundation, provides hope and encouragement to area residents living in poverty who seek economic self-sufficiency through employment.

About one-third of its members come from the Columbus homeless shelter system. While moving forward in obtaining employment, these individuals work with community partners to move from shelters into safe, affordable housing. Columbus Works, Inc. provides housewarming baskets to those transitioning to new housing, most of whom have only a few personal belongings.

Support for this Better Together project helped purchase the contents of housewarming baskets, which include linens, kitchen items, cleaning products, and paper products.
