Keep it Rolling
Franklinton Cycle Works
Nourish a neighborhood by renovating the bike “kitchen” at Franklinton Cycle Works.
Franklinton Cycle Works partners with neighborhood residents to get the community rolling on two wheels. A cooperative bicycle shop on West Broad Street, the organization promotes safe, affordable, and accessible cycling and offers training, space, parts, and tools for bike repairs.
Many of the organization’s patrons depend on bicycles for daily transportation. Others utilize bikes and the shop’s services to stay active despite mobility challenges. Demand for their services is increasing and the need for sustainable and equitable transportation options led the organization to reimagine their bike “kitchen” where repairs are made. Now they can optimize their space and create a more welcoming, inviting place for patrons and volunteers to work together.
Support for this Better Together campaign expanded the bike kitchen’s hours and dedicated more space to education, community building, and bike repair. Donations funded workbenches and shelves, paint, concrete floor refinishing and sealant, anti-fatigue mats, new tools, front door replacement, and a gathering space with seating.
We are Better Together!
Building bikes. Building connections. Building community.
