Prevent Overdoses, Save Lives
SOAR Initiative
Support for SOAR Initiative will help provide life-saving supplies to prevent overdose deaths in our community.
Thanks to you and other generous donors, SOAR has been able to provide free, life-saving materials to those in need.
The SOAR Initiative was founded in 2019 by a group of dedicated, passionate students at The Ohio State University. SOAR works with government agencies, established nonprofits, local activists, and communities to provide drug users throughout Ohio with free tools to prevent overdoses and save lives. It has created innovative and evidence-based technology and operates projects that concentrate on helping those left behind by traditional public health and substance use programs.
SOAR's mail-order harm reduction program, which has provided supplies to over 8,700 Ohioans in 67 counties so far, includes fentanyl test strips, syringes, and other life-saving materials.
Thank you for your support. We are Better Together!
“As fentanyl further contaminates the drug supply, it is crucial that people have access to tools that can identify its presence. Test strips save lives, and our mail-order program provides them for free.”
