Read to Lead
Support Harper's Corner to provide diverse children's books to elementary schools and help create a more inclusive, accepting environment.
Harper’s Corner is a grassroots, volunteer-driven effort founded by central Ohio parents committed to bringing about positive change in our community. It builds awareness and education around diversity and inclusion by donating age-appropriate children’s books to community elementary schools and libraries.
Your support for this Better Together campaign will expand this effort, helping students learn about ways to celebrate all people, in turn creating a more inclusive, accepting environment.
Reading together opens up a dialogue among kids, educators, and families. Help Harper’s Corner continue this important conversation.
We are Better Together!
“These books are an amazing addition to our schools because they relate to the students on a personal level. My students get excited when they see not only how diverse these books are but also how welcoming they are that everyone is different and that is okay! These books help break the ice and get my students really thinking about whatever topic we are learning that day."
—Ashley Blake, Kindergarten Teacher Liberty Elementary, Worthington School District
“We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Harper’s Corner. This program has been an invaluable resource for our district. Our students have access to rich and culturally relevant text through our Harper’s Corner Collection. We look forward to continuing this important partnership."
—Dr. Jamie Lusher, Chief Academic Officer, Grandview Heights
"I wanted to sincerely thank you not only for the beautiful books that you have gifted us but also for being brave, courageous, and graceful in founding this much, much needed service organization. Wow! I am in awe of what you are offering to districts, students and schools! Thank you so much for all that you are doing to provide more literacy for our students of color and the LGBTQA+ community.”
