Soccer and Literacy for Littles
South Side Early Learning
Support for South Side Early Learning will help provide the Soccer and Literacy for Littles program to 110 children.
Thanks to you and other generous donors, children were able to participate in the Soccer and Literacy for Littles program through South Side Early Learning and Final Third Foundation.
The program’s curriculum promotes a range of emergent literacy skills while improving a child’s executive function and peer relationships. Coaches incorporate content-specific vocabulary words from soccer-themed children’s books while teaching basic soccer skills that engage children in physical activity and team building. SSEL and F3 plan to bring the curriculum to other early childhood programs in Columbus.
Support for this Better Together project helped create excitement about reading and soccer.
