Supplies for Veterans' Dogs
Veteran Companion Animal Services
Support for Veteran Companion Animal Services (VCAS) will help provide food and supplies for rescue dogs adopted by veterans through VCAS.
Thanks to you and other generous donors, Veteran Companion Animal Services (VCAS) provided food and supplies for rescue dogs adopted by veterans through VCAS, at no cost to the veterans.
The human-animal bond provides positive mental, physical, and emotional health benefits and relief from anxiety, depression, social isolation, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). VCAS places rescue dogs with veterans who are seeking the structure and purpose that a dog provides, and who will, in return, provide a rescue dog a forever home. Food and supplies provided to veterans included bedding, crates, leashes, collars, harnesses, bowls, toys, waste bags, food, and dog treats. Support for this Better Together project allowed VCAS to continue to have a positive impact and make a difference in the lives of veterans and rescue dogs in our community.
We are Better Together!
"Supply drop-off day is like Christmas or a birthday for our veterans. They light up as everything is brought in, and they get to see all the food, supplies, treats, and toys that they will have for their rescue dog. It is such a heartwarming experience to see joy in their faces."
