Since 2007, Green Columbus has been dedicated to promoting sustainable living throughout central Ohio by providing meaningful forums, raising awareness, and encouraging local action. Green Columbus is the largest distributor of free tree seedlings in central Ohio and grows 3,000 trees annually for fall tree giveaways, helping to restore the tree canopy in the region. This restoration will mitigate urban heat islands, lower utility bills, make playgrounds and greenspaces more usable, decrease climate-related illness, and create resilient communities.
